Turtles and Tortoises​

Turtles and Tortoises are the only reptiles with shells. Their shells are made up of several hard plates. Each plate of a shell is a separate bone. Because of their bony shell, their bodies need more calcium than people. If you were to remove a turtle's shell,

Tortoises live on land and Turtles live in the water.
